The rest of the night nothing happen and soon the sun raised in east. Yi Chang was the first one awake and he started to make breakfast for the three of them, the smell of food quickly woke up Jun Chen while Xiuying Chang was still fast asleep. “Good morning” Jun Chen started and Yi Chang just looked at him and nodded back before he put some rice and some meat on a plate and handed him “Today I will leave the house with Xiuying Chang so please this time, you have no reason for getting started on your training” Jun Chen just nodded with his mouth full of food which made Yi Chang smile a bit. Jun Chen swallowed his food and replied “Are you sure that it is a good idea to walk around with her in the town with out any defense? When I have your sword” Yi Chang just nodded while eating a bit himself but he took a plate and filled it up “Here, go wake up Xiuying Chang and give her this, so she can get her strength back” Jun Chen putted his plate down and took the other before heading inside to Xiuying Chang who still was laying in her bed but she had been awake for a while and just listening to the sounds coming from everywhere. “Wake up, Wake up” but before Xiuying Chang could answer him, Yi Chang had also entered the room and ruined the kind morning “Sorry to break in like this but just forgot to say that you has to forget your real names” Jun Chen looked weird at him but Xiuying Chang knew why as her father had told her about spies and others who keep their names a secret. “It is to keep us a secret so no one knows that you are the crown prince and even I am not so much important in this world then it is best we keep us secret” she broke in without thinking about saying good morning or anything “That is right” Yi Chang replied and continued “So from now on we will only use our first names but because your named Xiuying is a bit unique in this area you will be named Xiu” A tear ran down her check but she nodded and quickly removed it before changing focus to the lovely smell of food “When can I get allowed to eat” she replied with a teasing voice and Jun Chen who had focused on the conversation quickly turned against her with the plate in his hand so he almost dropped it on her but even that she were blind she still had some quick movements and catches the plate before it was going to make a mess. She started to eat like nothing had happen and Yi Chang smile to himself before replied “Eat quickly so we can get the day started” then pointed at the sword and Jun Chen, “Go training now” and Jun Chen quickly did what he was ordered and left the room quickly with the sword in his hand and soon the air was full of the sword singing as he started cutting the air into two. Xiuying Chang finished her without any words as she listened to the sound of the sword. As she was done she stood up before removing they unnecessarily bandages which still covered her body after all the weird events yesterday. “I am ready to go now, but may I ask where as you haven’t told me anything other than to eat fast” she asked, making Yi Chang laugh which made Xiuying Chang blossom a little as you thought it was her who had been stupid but it quickly disappeared as Yi Chang answered. “Sorry Xiu, I forgot that you was not awake when I told it to Jun. We are going to the stone mason who will make you are grave stone for our family but mostly yours and then we will also get some Lycoris Radiata which help keeping animals away from the remains even you don’t have any” Xiuying Chang found it weird that he said mostly her family but didn’t think much of it and just gave her hand to him and replied “Sounds like I need a guide if we are going so many place that I have never been, even in this house” Yi Chang took the hand with a hard but gentle grip and replied “sorry you have not been shown around but we will do that after our trip in the town” and then he took her out of some doors which sounded old and dry while the sword songs quickly disappeared and was replaced with people talking about everything. Yi Chang didn’t say much so Xiuying Chang didn’t felt the need to ruin the silence between them even she had started to wonder how long she have been at the town. Yi Chang walked a bit faster than she were use to her parents had been doing but before she could ask him to slow down, they had entered a door without much sounds and a hammering sounds was heard instead. “Mr. stone mason?” She could get hear Yi Chang said trying to break through the hammering which soon stopped “Hello, sorry I didn’t hear you entering but what do you want?” Xiuying Chang could feel Yi Chang loosed his hand from hers before answering “my granddaughter Xiu Chang have lost her parents and I want you to create a tombstone for them and even she is blind I will let you two take care of it while I will head out to get a new sword” Xiuying Chang wanted to make objections against it but before she got a chance to say anything, she could hear the door close and the voice of the stone mason ask her something. “I am sorry was in my own world, could you please repeat that?” She said without have the slightest clue about what he had said. “Sure, miss Xiu, I asked if you have any ideas of what you want the tombstone to look like?” Xiuying Chang started to think and it didn’t take long before a dragon jumped into her eyes and started dancing in front of her and even she had never seen anything in her life, she knew it was a dragon. “I want a dragon, if you are any good at making those?” The stone mason started laughing before he calm down and replied “I am sorry but of course I am good at that” and then she heard the hammering started and there were no more talk between them. In the meantime had Yi Chang found the blacksmith out side the town and soon had a training sword ready for Jun Chen. The blacksmith had made it sharp and light as he had requested so now he only needed to find some Lycoris Radiata for the graves. The hammering sounds from the blacksmith ended and he took a firm grip in the sword and made it fly though the air a few times before he bowed to the blacksmith “Thanks, it is truly the sword I ordered” the blacksmith didn’t reply and just held his hand out and Yi Chang dropped some golden coins in it before leaving with sword and soon was back between noisy people who filled the street. He went back to the stone mason and Xiuying Chang who was still busy making the tombstone. “Ohh, you are back already… I am sorry my lord but I don’t think I will get it done before tomorrow” Yi Chang smiled but still thought his mind about how long it could take to make a tombstone before he noticed it resembled a dragon and not just any dragon but the earth dragon leaving him speechless before Xiuying Chang gripped his hand. “Why did you leave me?” Asked Xiuying Chang and Yi Chang could feel that something was wrong and replied the mason, “it is fine” before he turned against Xiuying Chang and looked at her and noticed that her eyes were wet. “Have you been crying, Xiu?” Xiuying Chang could answer before she started to shake all her body. The mason broke in “She told me about her parents and started crying quickly because of that” Yi Chang could feel the lie in the voice and pulled the training sword from it’s sheath and pointed it directly at the mason, who quickly looked around and took his biggest hammer. “What did you do?” Yi Chang yelled so loud that people outside the shop stopped everything to hear what was happening. As the mason didn’t answer Yi Chang got even more angry and yelled even louder “I asked, what did you do?” The yelling made Xiuying Chang cry again before single words started to come in bursts “he… he.. he” she tell but the tears and everything made it hard for her to say it. “What did he do?” Yi Chang tried to say gentle but he was still to angry at the mason to sound kind. “He touched… me on my breasts” she finally managed to say before her tears ran even faster but before the first one could reach the end of her check the mason had
already replied loud “She is lying” but Yi Chang knew it was the truth he pointed the sword against him and with an furious voice replied “I don’t believe you… but because I don’t have time to fix this mess, I will let you get away with it” Xiuying Chang could feel the confusing growing in her head as why would he let the man touch her but in the same the mason replied “I don’t care about your time” and in the next she could her the heavy hammer flying to the air. Clack it said as the two weapons hit each other but no of them broke and Xiuying Chang expected a new clack but instead scream was heard “You crazy old man, you cut me” which was quickly followed by Yi Chang “Yes, now stop and make the tombstone finished for free” The mason lower his hammer but was far form done “No, I am not making you any stone at all, no matter what you or that crazy woman says” he replied but the hammer still didn’t move in attack mode again. “If you not do it, I will bring someone who make it the last thing you ever do” Yi Chang yelled again and turned away form the man and started to walk against the door but before he had taken a step, two soldier had entered the room. “What is going on here” they yelled to make sure all heard them before noticing who the old man was and quickly continued “I am sorry Master Yi Chang, we are sorry for yelling at you” Yi Chang took Xiuying Chang and held her against him and replied with a gentle voice “It is fine, as long you make that man disappear” The mason was speechless as he had learned who he had been up against but the gone voice soon returned with sadness in his voice “I am sorry for what I did, I don’t deserve to be in front of you at all” which Yi Chang could feel was the truth and even he felt he had to protect Xiuying Chang, he also felt that he had to save the man and thought for a moment before replying “if my granddaughter allows me, I will forgive your actions in return for the tombstone” at first Xiuying Chang felt weird about it but the warmth of Yi Chang made her know, it was the right thing to do. “I forgive you too, but if it ever happens to me or another woman again I won’t save you” The soldiers looked at each other as they were used to be in charge of what to happen but the way the two parties had fixed the problem themselves left them thinking for a while before talking almost silence to each other before nodding. “We allow this punishment if you promise, you won’t do it again and if you do then I do not want to be in your shoes” the words have only just left the mouth of the soldier before the mason replied “I am sorry for all and I promise on my heart” then he walked back to the dragon to start completing it while the others left the shop. Outside the shop the soldiers decided it was best to keep the town unaware of what had happened and left Yi Chang and Xiuying Chang alone at the street. They started to walk down the street to their home in silence but just as they were about to enter the gate broke Yi Chang the silence “I am sorry for the event that happen today Xiuying Chang… I nearby give you my word that I will never leave your side again and if I do I will make sure you are around friends” Yi Chang did not know what to reply but smile for the first time since the events and tighten her grip in Yi Chang as they walked into opening at the house where Jun Chen still was training hard.
Her heart started to slow down before stopping together with her mind and she felt her body closing down but when just as it looked at the darkest two different hands to a hard grip in her hands, no minding the blood or anything and pulled her away. “We have to go NOW” she heard two voices yelling in mouth of each other but she knew the voices. It was Jun Chen and Yi Cheng, their voice continued but she didn’t focus on them as the light and darkness was fighting inside her. “Get up NOW” she heard low but it gave the light and as a blind person she had never seen a light like that before and as she shake her head the light filled her from top to toe and she stand up like nothing could touch her. She started walking with them like her injuries was there no more and she followed them in a speed, way faster than before and soon she could feel water against her skin before the sounds of horses meet her too. They were in the royal stables, a place she always wanted to go but not like this. The last thought made the darkness suddenly appear in the bottom of the light and her senses started to turn off but before she could scream, she fainted.
“Help her up now” Jiang Chen yelled to his men when he noticed that she were laying in the wet grass and soon two men took her and tried to walk her up while putting her on a horse. “You need to ride with her, Jun Chen” Jiang Chen commanded his son. Jun Chen just nodded and prepared his horse for Xiuying Chang as the men had giving up on waking her up and put her on the horse. The rain started to fall faster and another explosion was heard from in other end of palace but no one had time to focus on that now because they had to get away now and they did not have a second chance. Emperor looked up at the sky before he closed his eyes and fell the rain hitting in his face for almost three seconds before he nodded like he had decided something and then he started walking over to the gate. He opened it like it was nothing which made the men including Jun Chen and Yi Cheng freeze for a bit. “Get our now and let our paths meet again some day safe” he yelled loud and looked at his son a last time as they started riding on each side of him. Jun Chen wanted to look back at his father but the gate had already closed and they were now just the three of them and they had to hurry away or they might become many more.
He closed his eyes hard and started to focus on the rain drops instead of the nightmare which had awaken him not long ago and soon he was already fast asleep but this time there were no dreams or nightmares in his sleep only an annoying voice calling “General, general” before his ears and mind finally understood it was in the real world the sound was coming from and he opened his eyes again and he so tired of being awaken again with such short distance. He staring with eyes sending lightnings at the man who had been yelling for him seconds ago and now was standing in front of him covered in blood. “I hope that blood is from the girl I ordered you and 11 others to kill” The soldier looked down in the ground and did not answer as a cat had taken his tongue. “Why are you waking me up if you don’t have anything to say” Li Chen continued while slowly walking closer to his sword on the bed. A very low voice replied “I am sorry to have awaken you, my lord but I bring bad news” Li Chen took the last step against the bed and took the sword before turning against the soldier and swung his sword fast making the soldier start screaming of pain as his left arm started to slide down and land on the ground “I told you that I would only be awaken if you had good news, stop screaming and tell me the news or I cut you again” He yelled to break thought the screams. The soldier tried to focus but the pain was too much so it was not very understandable “We… ambush… crazy girl… old man… death…” Li Chen looked at the man and smiled “Try again and this time more words please” The soldier became more calm as a medic entered the room and started to cover the hole “We attacked and ambushed her and some older man who was with her but something happen and she turned into a crazy person and started killing us for fun even when we took the old man hostage” he said and Li Chen smiled again “See, that was not hard, was it?” The soldier started to shake his head but before he could reply properly he fell to the ground while holding himself on the chest with his only arm. Li Chen had stabbed him and he was laughing loud now “I told you guys to handle it and if you cannot beat a small girl and old man you are a disgrace to my army so die now” and then he cut the head of town as he was tired of the scream. The medic who had been seating next the soldier was speechless but did not do anything else than leave the body and the tent. Li Chen look at the body while thinking about who the old man could be when it hit him that in his father battle against the young man years ago, he had also been fighting an old man and that old man was the main reason that they had lost but luckily they had still managed to escape. He thought hard but could not remember the name of the old man but wondered if the dream was together with events and that the dragon was him. He decide he would not take the chance on having the old man on the lose so he walked out to his guards. “I want more guards at my siblings and I tents plus I want someone to clean up my tent as it is a mess in there” the soldiers just nodded as they knew what had happened inside the tent not long ago. Li Chen was about to walk inside the tent again to sleep some more when the sun started to raise up in the east and he knew that he had been getting more sleep than expected and he turned his focus on his guards again and yelled “Bring me my siblings now and clean up the mess now then you can find extra guards later” and then he walked into the tent and cleaned the sword while talking to himself “That old man have made my hand kill twice and ruined my plans to attack the emperor’s palace with all my might and power. I hope we get there before him so we can hurt them down afterwards without any place for them to go”
Suddenly the horse turned away and Long Wang could feel the rain drops hit her less often and soon she heard bird songs too and she knew she was a forest now. Now she only needed to make the soldiers back off so she tried to think but changes in the wind made her know that swords were trying to strike her down and in a last second she moved away and heard the soldiers complaining about their missed changed and she knew it was her chance to get away so she held tight around the horse and commanded it to go faster and it started to pick up speed and she got farther and farther away from the noisy soldiers which made her smile again but just as she felt she had escaped the dangers and turned her back against her. Before she knew it she were on the muddy ground trying to breathe and figure out what was up and down. Her mind was all gone except for the word “failure” as she knew that if she did not get away now she would be killed by the soldiers and she would have failed her family. Tired and confused she started to hold herself together and accept her fate as she could hear the soldiers on their horses coming closer and how they were started to laugh loudly when they watched her laying they. Ling Wang tried to find the sword she had been holding seconds before the accident but it was nowhere to be found in the mud and instead she started to scream loudly when her hands touched the horse head which was a mess too after it had taken much of the damage. Ling Wang could heard the soldiers stepping on their horses and soon a sword was pushed against the rocks and her broken clothes held her from moving any further. She tried to break free but it just showed more and more of her bare skin and broken body which turned the soldiers more and more wild and they started to play with her in circles. The accident had made them know that she were blind and that she had no clues about her surroundings. Suddenly another horse was heard and Ling Wang feared that it was some leader who wanted to be her first so she gathered her last strength and run against one of the soldiers trying to get a grip of a sword or something she could end her life with but she almost blacked out going halfway there so she gave up and stopped move her body at all. But suddenly a calm gentle voice where heard “who owns this medallion?” Ling Wang was too tired to answer but tried anyway and the voice replied “is this true soldiers?” The soldiers looked at themselves and the old man who stood there unarmed with the medallion and without answering started to move closer to the old man who yelled but still calm “I am here to help you Ling Wang, don’t give up” Ling Wang tried to reply but her body was way to broken and tired so everything turned black and all the body hit the muddy ground with a splash. “Now you are all alone, old man” a solider yelled with a raised sword which the old man just closed his eyes and replied with a shaking head “no you are alone”
He opened the door slowly as he expected her to be watching fireworks again but the room was all dark except for the light from the hall. He could see that Ning Wang was already in bed and that she wear looking away like she did not want to talk at all. “Are you asleep already?” he tried with a gentle voice while looking at her but she did not move so he closed the door and walked over to her bed and knelled in front of it. “I am sorry I yelled at you, but you know it was past your bedtime” he tried and this time she moved around and with a sad look she answered “I am sorry that I wanted to see the fireworks so much” a moment of silence followed before they gave each other a hug which made Ning Wang smile again. “Will you tell a bedtime story?” she asked with a interested voice and Jiahao Wang just nodded and stood up from his kneeling position and removed the curtains so the fireworks entered the room and Ning Wang used the chance to get out of bed and run over to get her favorite book and toy so she could enjoy the story. But Jiahao Wang smiled and shaked his head gentle while removing the book from her hand. “I know it is your favorite but today I will tell you another story” Ning Wang turned a bit sad as she had hoped she could her about princesses and dragon’s and was about to complain about it but keep quiet as she did not want her grandfather to become more angry tonight even it had been her fault. Jiahao Wang could see that her eyes was sad over that he would not read that one so instead he walked out of the door “Just a minute” he said as he left the room and soon he was back with the old case form earlier and continued “I know you love the book very much but I felt it was time to tell you a real story instead of all that fantasy” He wanted to say more but could see how Ning Wang’s eyes got more and more focused on the old case he had in his hand so he cut the story short and continued “I did not plan for you to see this before in long time, but here is a sword which have been in our family for as long as the moon have been in the sky” Ning Wang did not listen at all as she watched the sword but still managed to be able to think and ask a question “Is the story about this sword, grandfather?” Jiahao Wang laughed because he knew his grand daughter was not stupid at all but still so he just replied “Yes, but first you need to know the backstory and let me warn you, it is stories for little girls even I will do my best to tell it gentle to you, then you can always get the bad version later” Ning Wang did not care as she was used to hear stories about dragons and heroes so why would this be any different. “Am I in the story grandfather?” she asked gentle as she tried to figure out what the story was about without spoiling the story and Jiahao Wang looked at her with seriously eyes as he was worried about something which made her quickly replied her own answer “I am sorry, grandfather” which made Jiahao Wang get his happy look back while he replied “I don’t know sweety… let us see” and the he pretented to read a page in a book before he replied “No, you are not but let us call the hero in this book for Ling Wang just so we feel we are family” before he could finish Ning Wang already had a new question “Who is she?” Jiahao smiled again as big rocket explode in the window almost turning the whole room red with its power before he answered “She is the hero as I said and she is a blind girl” Ning Wang broke in again and asked “Why is she blind grandfather?” Jiahao Wang replied quickly “I am sure the story will tell you why so please no more questions now so I can tell you the story” A new rocket exploded behind them this time it turned the room green and Ning Wang smiled before nodding and answered “Yeah tell the story grandfather” like she was the one waiting for him to get ready while she had been the one distruping the story. Jiahao Wang took the sword and put it in it’s case again so no one would become cut from it and then he took her at his lap with her blanket around them and watched the fireworks for a second before he prepreade his voice and started “Our story begins in a small town Jiudu which is not far from Beijing in China, here lived a young girl named Ling Wang with her parents, the famous general Xiao Chang who had helped the emperor many times and ways and in returned had gotten premisson to marry Lan Wang the emperor’s favorite concubine…”
